Gross movement is not net profit
Simple example: you buy BTC for €100 before fees, then sell the same quantity for €101. With a 0.1% fee on each side, about €0.80 remains after fees.
This is an illustration, not a return forecast. It assumes fees paid separately in the quote currency and excludes slippage, rounding and other costs.
The buy consumes quote currency and may incur a buy fee. The later sell creates quote proceeds and may incur a sell fee. The cost basis for the sold quantity includes its allocated purchase cost and, where available, the associated buy fee.
Allocated purchase cost and fees on both sides are deducted before calling the result net profit. This also matters when only part of a position is closed.
The allocated buy cost covers the part of the original purchase related to the quantity being sold. This matters when only part of a position is closed.
Why spacing matters
A grid with very small percentage spacing may create frequent targets, but each target leaves less room after both sides of the trade, price rounding, and exchange execution details.
There is no universal “profit per grid” amount. The result depends on the buy and sell prices, executed quantity, exchange fee treatment, precision, the portion sold, and the configured spacing and take-profit rate.
- More frequent targets
- Smaller price moves
- Less room after fees
May fit depending on the market and configuration.
- Less frequent targets
- Larger price moves
- More potential room
May fit depending on the market and configuration.
Suitable spacing depends on fees, the market and your strategy.
Fee-aware sell protection
When NuxGrid creates a take-profit sell, it calculates the expected cost and proceeds before submitting the order. The effective take-profit rate includes the configured target and a conservative fee break-even check.
If the projected net result is not positive, the sell is blocked rather than treated as a profitable cycle. This protects against an obviously uneconomic target; it is not a guarantee of final profit after every live execution condition.
Realized profit and open-position value
A completed sell cycle produces realized cycle profit according to the available execution data. An open position has a current market value, but that value is not realized profit until the position is closed.
Final equity and realized profit are therefore different measurements. Final equity can include cash, open positions, and a BTC reserve, while realized profit concerns completed sales.
- Realized profit known
- Fees deducted
- The cycle is closed
- Market value can change
- Not realized profit yet
- The cycle is not closed
Optional BTC conversion
NuxGrid can allocate a configured percentage of positive completed-sell profit to BTC conversion. Contributions may accumulate until the exchange minimum is reached, and the Connector may group them into a later conversion order.
Conversion fees are tracked separately. A BTC reserve does not mean the original grid cycle had no trading costs.
