Frequently asked questions
Essential answers for understanding NuxGrid, its Bitcoin grid trading bot, local connector and how it works.
Getting started
The basics for understanding NuxGrid and getting started.
NuxGrid is Bitcoin grid trading software with a bot running locally on your device through the connector. It calculates GRID levels and executes orders directly on your exchange, while the NuxGrid web console lets you configure, control and monitor your strategies. Your funds remain on your exchange, and NuxGrid does not take custody of them.
Install and pair a connector first, then create or configure a strategy. Start in simulation to check the strategy parameters and behavior. Enable real mode only after checking the strategy, market and exchange keys.
NuxGrid currently supports Binance, OKX, Bitstamp and Bitkub. The available markets are focused on Bitcoin.
Connector & security
Installation, operation, exchange keys and security.
The connector is installed on your device, such as a Raspberry Pi. It runs the grid trading bot locally: it calculates GRID levels, sends orders to the exchange, and tracks, cancels or reconciles them according to their status. It also stores orders, balances, metrics and events locally.
The data needed for operation and monitoring — orders, executions, balances and metrics — is stored locally on the connector. To display the dashboard, a snapshot may temporarily pass through the server and then be deleted after consumption or expiration; the browser may also keep a local copy for display. Your funds, however, remain on your exchange.
Plaintext values are not sent to the server. They are encrypted in the browser; the server temporarily transports the encrypted envelope, which is deleted after validation or revocation.
After receiving the envelope, the connector decrypts it locally and performs the authenticated check directly with the exchange. NuxGrid does not make this call with your credentials.
Currently, validated keys are stored locally on the connector in a file protected by system permissions. They are not encrypted at rest by NuxGrid, so protect access to the device and its operating system.
Create a key dedicated to NuxGrid with only the permissions needed for trading. Disable withdrawals and, if your exchange supports it, use an IP restriction when the connector’s egress address is stable.
It means NuxGrid is no longer receiving recent communication from the connector. This status concerns communication with NuxGrid and does not by itself prove that the local bot has stopped. The displayed information may be stale: check the device, the connector service and its network connection.
Trading & capital
Strategies, available capital, Bitcoin Reserve and metrics.
A strategy is an independent configuration: name, exchange, trading mode, amount per buy, spacing, take profit and any percentage of profits converted to BTC. Each strategy has its own tracking.
Simulation uses virtual orders and a virtual portfolio. It must not be interpreted as real execution. Real mode sends orders to the configured exchange. NuxGrid keeps these two contexts separate in the dashboard so their metrics are not mixed.
In real mode, this card shows the available capital based on the balance of the exchange account in use and the portion currently committed to orders. In simulation, it corresponds to the virtual capital or portfolio of the selected context. It is neither cumulative profit nor a guarantee of funds available across all your accounts.
The dash indicates that no reliable current metric has yet been received for this context. Conversely, “0” means the data is available and the measured value is actually zero.
After a profitable filled sell, the strategy can allocate the configured percentage of that profit to a BTC conversion. The connector performs the conversion based on execution data, fees and exchange minimums. Amounts may be grouped, delayed or retried when necessary.
The Bitcoin Reserve represents BTC from profit conversions actually filled by NuxGrid. It is a tracking ledger, not the current balance of a wallet: sales, withdrawals, transfers or conversions made outside NuxGrid are not deducted.
No. This view is only used to observe the BTC accumulated by NuxGrid. It does not allow you to sell, withdraw, send, transfer, buy or exchange cryptocurrencies.
The estimated value is displayed only when a market price matching the available currency already exists in the dashboard data. NuxGrid does not make a new external call solely to fill this information.
How it works
Bot operation, synchronization and the web console.
Yes, the bot runs on the connector and may continue when the browser or web console is closed. This still depends on the connector machine, its Internet connection, the exchange and the other components required for operation. If NuxGrid.com becomes temporarily unavailable, local execution may continue, but remote control, monitoring and synchronization may be unavailable or delayed.
The dashboard depends on connector synchronization. A metric may remain unchanged if the connector is stopped, offline, in error or if communication is delayed. Check its status and last contact before changing a configuration.
Security & responsibility
Limits, account protection and your responsibilities.
No. NuxGrid is a technical tool. You remain responsible for your parameters, enabling real mode, your exchange keys, the orders sent and the risks associated with trading.
Use a unique password for your NuxGrid account and protect access to the device hosting the connector. The account password is stored as a hash, not in plaintext. Exchange credentials are encrypted in the browser before transmission and then stored locally on the connector in a file protected by system permissions; this file is not encrypted at rest by NuxGrid.
